- Purpose of Expression of Interest:
The National Covid-19 Secretariat (NACOSEC) is mandated to co-ordinate development and implementation of the Lesotho National COVID-19 Strategy. As a guiding policy, the country aims to flatten the curve of infections and to raise the line of the healthcare system capacity with a view to reducing the likelihood of needless deaths. The role of NACOSEC is to ensure that national resources in the fight against the spread of Coronavirus are scaled-up and are effectively and efficiently utilised. NACOSEC invites suitably qualified and capable service providers/firms to submit their expression of interest for the provision of Emergency Medical Response Services for suspected and confirmed Covid-19 patients in Lesotho.
- Scope of Work
The successful bidder will be expected to provide emergency medical response services in one of the three regions including North (Mokhotlong, Butha-Buthe and Leribe), Central (Berea, Maseru, Semonkong and Thaba Tseka), South (Mafeteng, Mohales Hoek, Quthing and Qacha’Nek). The service shall include the following:
a) Transportation of Suspected Covid-19 patients to designated place of quarantine
b) Transportation of confirmed Covid-19 patients to designated place of isolation
c) Transportation of Covid-19 patients between health facilities and testing stations
d) Ability to provide suitable 4-wheel drive depending on terrain and need
e) The fleet should be insured for business, and proof of workmen’s compensation and third-party insurance cover provided;
f) Service record to substantiate condition of the fleet
- Duration of Work
The assignment is may take at least 12 months with possibility of renewal.

NACOSEC reserves the right to validate information submitted to ensure that company experience as well as capacity are relevant and adequate.
