The Turbine Art Fair features a main exhibition of work by Spanish master Francisco Goya next to South African artist Diane Victor’s work.

“Goya’s Los Caprichos series echoes Diane Victor’s Disaster of Peace very well in that they are both social commentary on their contemporary sociopolitical situations,” says curator Musha Neluheni of the Johannesburg Art Gallery.

The lifestyle and art fair, which was set up to accommodate artists, galleries, dealers and collectors of contemporary art works under R40 000, will also host free talks and exhibitions from emerging artists and a graduate show featuring emerging painters.

The fair returns to its venue at Newtown’s Turbine Hall this weekend.

The fair opened on Thursday July 14 and ends on Sunday July 17. Tickets are R100 a person or R200 for an all access weekend pass.
