Ronnie Mamoepa (56) passed away in Pretoria on Saturday at 23h15 after a long illness.
Mamoepa was a former political prisoner and former member of the Gauteng provincial legislature. His last job was as Deputy President Cyril Ramaphosa’s spokesperson.
“This is a great loss to me personally, to the presidency and government at large,” said Ramaphosa.
Mamoepa was a highly regarded and accomplished public servant and veteran communicator, loved for his professionalism.
