As the 2016 local government elections officially ended on Saturday night, many discussions turned to the ANC losing its 50% majority in key metros.
This leaves open the possibility of the DA going into coalitions with other parties to reach a majority and unseat the ANC.

ANC – 58.74% – 60 seats
DA – 23.4% – 24 seats

City of Cape Town (DA majority): 231 seats, 116 for majority
