Search technology company Truecaller has announced it now has over 100 million users, each of which is transforming his or her phonebook making it more intelligent and useful.

“Already one of the world’s fastest growing startups, Truecaller also announces that it has surpassed 100 million users globally, and has doubled its daily new users in less than 3 months. Consumers use Truecaller to identify unknown numbers, block unwanted calls, and search contact information among people and businesses. In addition to the surge in the user base, Truecaller also receives more than 1.5 billion search requests per month,” the company said in a statement.

It also announced the launch of a new Truecaller on Google Play which it said focuses on predictive style features which suggest who to contact based on call history, time of day, and place, making it convenient, which means users would not have to leave the app to find the right contact information.

“This is the first step we are taking to make Truecaller more intelligent and personal. We’ve made these advancement to save time for our users and make their lives less complicated when they want to get in touch with someone,”said Alan Mamedi, Co-Founder & CEO of Truecaller. “Our ambition is to make your mobile phone smarter and become part of your mobile daily habits.”

Truecaller said it is committed to leading with product innovation that makes the lives of its users easier than ever before. In October, the company received US$60 million in funding from leading venture capital firms Sequoia Capital, Atomico, and Kleiner Perkins Caufield Byers, and Truecaller launched its intelligent dial pad app Truedialer in October, which has already amassed more than two million users.

Truecaller 5.0 is available for Android only at the moment and is free to download from Google Play. The Truecaller app is also available oniOS, Windows Phone,BlackBerry and Nokia feature phones. Additionally, the free Truedialer app is available on Android and Windows Phone.
