A building on the University of Zululand campus that was used by the cleaning staff to store equipment was completely gutted by fire earlier this evening.
A source close to the university said that the incident was suspected to be linked to ongoing protests on campus.
Staff, including academics from several faculties, have been on strike since August 15 over low pay, among other things.
